The sun is shining, the engines are revving and you can taste the excitement in the air as the celebrations begin for the 25th anniversary of the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard.

Children and adults alike are full of anticipation to see the first Jet pack flight which takes place on the Hillclimb at 11.05am. A real ‘Buzz Lightyear’ moment, the Latest JB11 JetPack, capable of incredible flying speeds of 200mph and at heights of more than 10,000 feet, will make its European flight debut to thousands of excited spectators.

This, together with a whole host of exciting moments, marks the second year of FOS Future Lab, which builds upon the success of its 2017 debut. This year’s exhibition will focus on innovation topics such as space exploration, robotics and personal flight, and is the perfect opportunity for visitors to interact with some of the latest technology.

Technology and engineering giant Siemens made history just before 10am when successfully running their fully autonomous classic Ford Mustang up the Hillclimb. For the first time a road car has been up the famous Goodwood Hill without human direction, the Duke of Richmond was sat in the rear of the car, offering spectators a chance to see past and future coming together in dramatic fashion.

The launch of the Goodwood Motorsport app means that for the first time ever, visitors will be able to experience the event at their fingertips. Users can find out exactly where all the action is happening and even receive reminders so that they don’t miss any of the highlights. With the event becoming bigger and better each year, this ensures that visitors can tailor the day exactly to their requirements.

The Porsche Central Feature has immediately wowed the crowds with its brave and original design: one single, narrow spine, starting at only 12cm wide on the ground, shoots vertically to explode into seven pointed spindles, on which six iconic Porsches sit dramatically at each end, with the seventh spindle pointing sharply into the sky.

Hospitality packages are available throughout the weekend. To buy tickets or enquire about hospitality visitwww.goodwood.com or call the Goodwood Ticket Office on 01243 755 055.
