Stuttgart/Prague. Porsche Engineering Group GmbH promotes young academic talent: At the beginning of May Porsche Engineering Services, s.r.o., a subsidiary of the Engineering service provider, extended the successful partnership with the Czech Technical University (CTU) in Prague. The comprehensive cooperation agreement which had been signed at the Czech Institute of Robotics, Cybernetics and Informatics (CIIRC) includes practical lectures taught by Porsche Engineering, student internships, diploma offers and common research projects.

“We are very pleased to renew our vital cooperation with the Czech Technical University”, says Dirk Lappe, managing Director of Porsche Engineering and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Porsche Engineering Prague. “Thanks to the partnership with various institutes and faculties of the university, we were able to translate the latest research achievements into practice for the last 16 years.”

Many collaboration activities already take place at the CIIRC that was established at the CTU in 2013. These activities will be further extended in the future. In particular, the institute and Porsche Engineering, s.r.o. collaborate in the areas of charging infrastructure development and server-based vehicle functions. Prof. Petr Konvalinka, Rector of the CTU, says: “Practical relevance plays an important role in the teaching of our university. Therefore, we warmly welcome the guest lectures and other activities offered by Porsche Engineering that perfectly complement our innovative research.”

Originally, the cooperation was initiated with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in 2001, the same year as the first Porsche Engineering subsidiary abroad was founded in the Czech Republic. Besides the active participation of Porsche Engineering in lectures of automotive study programs, the company has been supporting students by offering vacancies for internships and joint diploma projects. With the renewal of the agreement, the cooperation has been expanded to other faculties and research centers of the university to carry forward R&D projects within the automotive industry.

Porsche Engineering, s.r.o. is advancing various technical fields, for example complex calculations and simulations, design engineering as well as software and hardware development. The company is dedicated to the development of smart mobility such as future powertrains and car connectivity. The cooperation with the university and its many research possibilities further strengthens highly innovative development for Porsche Engineering. Dr. Miloš Polášek, Managing Director of Porsche Engineering in Prague says: “The cooperation with the CTU combines innovative research with practical development needs of the automotive industry and drives the strategic progress of Porsche Engineering Prague.”
