RECARO Automotive Seating returns to the SEMA show in Las Vegas for the first time in more than ten years, and will present performance seats for true car enthusiasts, including four new seats targeting the North American aftermarket. 2017 is a big year for the RECARO brand. Building on 111 years of supplying the automotive industry, RECARO is also celebrating its 50th anniversary of the first RECARO shell seat and the 40th anniversary of its first U.S. business unit.

“At RECARO Automotive Seating, we have a lot to celebrate this year,” says Martin C. Klein, vice president RECARO Automotive Seating. “Over more than one century we’ve learned that there are no boundaries and that our drive to be the best has propelled us to create the world’s first true performance seats. So our tradition and heritage are alive – RECARO is not only a brand, it’s a lifestyle where each and every employee understands that we as team need to keep learning and improving in order to keep winning.”

Founded in 1906, the “Stuttgarter Karosseriewerk Reutter” first produced car bodies and interiors. The brand RECARO was established in 1963, first seats for automobiles were introduced in 1965. For five decades RECARO shell seats have been setting industry standards: In 1967 the company unveiled the RECARO Rallye, the world’s first street-licensed shell seat, which was followed by the RECARO racing seat in 1974, the first pure shell-type racing seat for professional touring car competitions. Numerous milestones followed, featuring evolutionary and revolutionary RECARO innovations.

“To date, we have an unrivaled worldwide reputation of providing premium performance seats for original equipment, the aftermarket and motorsports,” says Klein. “RECARO Automotive Seating stands for extraordinary riding performance, best comfort and ergonomics, German engineering and craftsmanship, lightweight construction, and outstanding design.”

At this year’s SEMA show, RECARO Automotive Seating is back as an exhibitor to further strengthen the brand’s position in the U.S. market. At its booth 50113 in the Performance Pavilion, the company will reveal four new seats for the American aftermarket.
